will lange from Coastline sports in Croyde, north devon

Will Lange

Will has been surfing the North Devon coast since early childhood and he is at his happiest when in the water, whatever the weather.

He has been lucky enough to have travelled far and wide, surfing big waves in Lanzarote, Portugal, Indonesia, Mexico, Ireland, California and Hawaii.

He began working for local Outdoor Pursuit Centres at the age of 18, teaching surfing and coasteering, while studying Outdoor Pursuits at Petroc College.

For a couple of winter seasons, Will worked in Austria as a ski instructor, and he still loves to get on the slopes with his skis or snowboard whenever time allows. Much of his down time nowadays is spent kite-surfing and climbing, so all in all, he doesn’t like to be sitting still!

Laurence Coleman

Laurence has been climbing for over twenty years, all over the world, leading E4 tradition routes, 7B sport routes, 7C Boulder problems & putting up 1st ascents. He has a passion for bouldering, putting up 1st ascents and running off to the mountains to play.

Currently holding CWA, CWLA, SPA and ML qualifications, he is continuing to work his way up the qualifications ladder, towards MIA (the UK’s highest rock climbing award). At the same time, he is also working his way through the climbing coaching awards.

Laurence believes that a climbing instructor should be enthusiastic and passionate about all types of climbing….. he is certainly both of these things! He loves to be out on real rock, sharing his excitement with others.

As well as climbing/guiding, Laurence keeps up to date with current practices through his own continual professional development. He enjoys adventuring on both Exmoor and Dartmoor, both socially and professionally, and he assists local centres with their safety, set ups & operations. He also finds time to help people achieve their own climbing qualifications.

Rob Greenslade

Robs learnt to surf at the age of six and was soon on the competition circuit, sponsored by Circle One. He competed on a national level until the age of 18.

After leaving school, Robs knew that all he wanted to do was to coach people to surf. He gained experience by instructing at various surf schools, and then in 2014 he set up his own Surf and Stand up Paddle Board School (Surf SUP Academy, Westward Ho!)

Robs has travelled to Mexico, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Florida, Hawaii and Europe to follow his passion for surfing, but some of his favourite waves are to be found closer to home in Scotland.
